Laura Elizabeth Symes

Charlotte Matilda Symes - born in 1875, she became known as Lottie in the family.  Charlotte attended the British School and the school log book for May 1885 reports that Charlotte was one of the ten children awarded a scholarship by the governors of Thornbury Grammar School.

On 19th September 1900 Lottie married Hubert George Sillence of Bournemouth in what is now the United Reformed Church in Thornbury and moved to Bournemouth.  The photograph shown here on the right hand side is of Herbert and Lottie Sillence, soon after their marriage.

Annie Symes - born in 1876.  Annie married Augustus Ernest Pitcher in 1908. She lived until she was 100 years old.  Click here for more information on Ernest and Annie Pitcher.
