The house now known as 15 Pullins Green was part of the row of houses known as Victoria Terrace.  We haven't seen the deeds of all of these houses yet.  However, having seen the deeds of number 19, we believe that they were all built by George Hodges, the Thornbury builder, about 1870.  We have been told by Miss Higgins that number 15 was the first house to be built in the terrace and the only one originally built without a wash house.  Click here to see more

We would be delighted to see the deeds of more of these houses to check on the date they were built and any other details which they might give and would be delighted to hear from the owners of the properties.

We know that the land that the house was built on was bought by George Hodges in 1860.  George Hodges owned and let the four houses in Victoria Terrace and the adjoining house, now called 23 Pullins Green.

After his death in 1905, the houses were managed and let by the Trustees of George Hodges' Estate and in the case of number 15, we know that the house was purchased by Miss Higgins about 1958.  For several years the house was used by members of Joan's family but in more recent years, it has been let out to tenants.
