Number 11 sits overlooking the 'Green' facing south.

We have not yet seen the deeds of the house so we do not know when the house was built.  From its appearance it would seem to have been built at the same time as number 13 next door.  We have been told that the two houses may have been one property in the 'old days', but we have not seen the deeds of either house and found no evidence of this yet.

In the 1840 Tithe survey the property was owned by Thomas Crossman (who also owned number 13).  It was occupied by Edward Oakley Robertson.  In the 1841 census he was a farmer living in the Hackett.  He was aged 50, living with his wife, Sarah, aged 40, sons Alfred, aged 20, William 19, Frederick 16, Charles 10, and daughters, Ellen 17, Sarah 12 and Mary 10. Some of the baptism records of his children refer to Edward being a tanner.
